🤔 What Even Is Nostr?

Nostr is like Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook... but nobody can delete your account, ban you, or control what you say or post.

The first social media where YOU are actually in charge, not some big company, Ai, or an algorithm. This means you must do the work exploring nostr and building your following. For instance, when you first login, your feed will be emtpy because you're not following anyone yet.

⚙️ How Does It Actually Work?

Imagine you're sending a message to your friend. But instead of one company (like Facebook, Apple, or WhatsApp) controlling everything, your messages go through multiple servers(that regular people and some cool companies own) to talk to each other.

That's Nostr. Your posts live on multiple servers (called "relays") instead of just one company's server, putting you back in control.

Real World Example:
When you post on Twitter, Twitter owns that post. If they delete your account, POOF - everything's gone.

When you post on Nostr, your post lives on 5, 10, or 20 different servers. Even if one server goes down or tries to ban you, your posts still exist everywhere else. You can't be erased or silenced.

🔑 You Get Special Keys

When you join Nostr, you get handed keys:

Public Key: Like your username. You share this with everyone so they can find you and send you money.

Private Key: Like your password. NEVER share this. It proves you're you. Keep it safe like you'd keep your bank password safe.

Purple Check (Nip05): Just like the blue checks on facebook and X. Helps reduce fake accounts and proves you own the profile. Fake accounts wont be able to use your Nostrich.Club Purple Check.

Think of it like this:
Your public key and Purple Check are like your Instagram handle - everyone can see it and use it to find the real you.

Your private key is like the password to your Instagram account - if someone gets it, they can pretend to be you and steal your account. A Purple Check(Nip05) can help with account fraud and account theft too.

💰 The Money Part (Zaps)

On Nostr, people can send you Bitcoin instantly for your posts. These tiny Bitcoin payments are called "Zaps" ⚡

It's like if someone could instantly Venmo you $1 for a funny Reel, except:

• No middle man taking fees
• Instant (like, actually instant)
• Works anywhere in the world
• Nobody can stop you from sending or receiving.

Real Example:
You post a hilarious meme on Nostr. 50 random people zap you 100 sats each (that's like $0.10 each). You just made $10 for making people laugh.
